Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Randomizer. It covers two separate things: the website you are reading now, and our mobile apps. Each has its own section below because they behave differently. We keep data collection to a minimum, and where we do use third-party services we name them plainly.

Website

The website is the browser version of Randomizer. It is designed to work without collecting personal data.

  • No accounts. There is no sign-up, login, or profile. We never ask for your name, email, or any identifier to use the site.
  • Your lists stay in your browser. Any name or team lists you create are saved with your browser’s localStorage on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes them, so please back up anything you want to keep.
  • Analytics is cookieless unless you opt in. The site uses Google Analytics 4 in Consent Mode. By default no analytics cookies are set and no persistent identifiers are stored — Google receives only cookieless, aggregated pings. If you click “Allow analytics” in the cookie banner, standard Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are set to distinguish returning visits. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer; your choice itself is stored in your browser and never sent to us.
  • House ads are just links. Where the site promotes our own apps, those are plain links to the relevant Google Play or App Store listing. Following one takes you to the store, which has its own privacy policy.

As with any website, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical access logs (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) to run and secure the service. We do not use these logs to build profiles or track you across sites.

If we later add advertising (for example Google AdSense) or further analytics, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before those services run.

Mobile apps

This section covers our mobile apps: Randomizer on Google Play and Random name & list generator on the Apple App Store. The apps offer the same tools as the website plus an optional one-time premium upgrade, and they use a few third-party services to run ads, understand stability, and process purchases.

Advertising

The free version of the apps shows ads through Google AdMob (banner ads, and on Android an occasional full-screen ad). In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, the apps show Google’s consent request (the UMP / User Messaging Platform) before serving personalized ads, and your choice is passed to the ad service. Buying premium removes ads entirely. AdMob is a Google service with its own privacy policy.

Analytics and crash reporting

The apps use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (both Google services) to understand which screens are used and to receive crash reports so we can fix problems. We rely on automatic, aggregate reporting and identify screens by their route name only — we do not send the contents of your lists or any identifier you have typed.

Premium purchase

Premium is a single, one-time purchase managed through RevenueCat, which records whether your device is entitled to premium. The payment itself is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own terms and privacy policies — we never see or store your card details.

Suggestion form

The apps include an optional form for sending us feedback. If you choose to use it, we receive the suggestion text you write, an email address only if you add one, your app version, your operating-system version, and your device model, plus a one-way hashed device token used to reduce spam. We use this only to read and act on your feedback. If you do not use the form, none of this is sent.

On-device storage

Your saved lists and app settings are stored on your device in the app’s own storage. As on the website, they are not uploaded to us.

Children

Randomizer is a general-audience tool. It has no accounts and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through the suggestion form, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and contact

The developer is based in Latvia, in the European Union, so EU data-protection rules (the GDPR) apply. Because we do not run accounts, we hold almost nothing that is tied to you — the main exception is anything you send us through the suggestion form. You can ask us to access or delete that at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will also answer any other privacy question at the same address.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change — for example if we add advertising or analytics to the website — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be described clearly rather than buried.
